Mother Adu Kumari Thapa with her two children:
- Tochter Daughter Sabita Thapa, 18 years old, in 8th grade
- Son Sandesh Thapa, 16 years old, in 8th grade
Situation:
Adu Kumari Thapa’s husband died in an accident. The family grows rice and vegetables for its own consumption on a small parcel of land. Before and after school, Adu Kumari’s son, Sandesh Thapa, worked hauling stones – this was the family’s only source of income. When we first visited, they were living in a shed.
Tara Namaste’s objectives:
The family is still living in a shed. Our goal is for the family to be able to move into a new home as soon as possible. The Tara Namaste Foundation also supports the two children.
