Reducing underdevelopment and wasting in children through maternal, infant and young child nutrition and the treatment of severe acute malnutrition. Investing in nutrition – especially in the first years of life – can bring significant results for children, their families and communities.
Good nutrition is the foundation for children’s survival, health and development. Well-nourished children are better able to grow and learn, participate in their communities, and are more resilient to disease, disasters and other global crises. But for the millions of children suffering from malnutrition, the reality is harsh. For millions more children, this chronic malnutrition will lead to stunting – an irreversible condition that literally stunts children’s physical and cognitive growth.
The good news is, there are ways to change this.
The “Poshan Nanglo” project is testing a new tool to change nutritional behaviour in Nepal.
